Dr. Joanne Kwoh is a former pre-doctoral intern of Dr. Scheiner (2019-2020), who is returning to practice as a registered psychological associate (PA 94026572) at The Scheiner Group, under the supervision of Dr. Scheiner (PSY 27147). She completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2021, and is trained as a grief counselor and in trauma-focused CBT.
In addition to gaining post-doctoral experience in trauma-informed and health-rehabilitation focused psychotherapies, Dr. Kwoh is an Associate Professor and Chair of Psychology at the University of the West in Rosemead, CA; as well as a consultant to YWCA San Gabriel Valley, presenting mental health workshops in English and Chinese Mandarin. She has experience in both undergraduate and graduate college teaching, and her areas of practice specialization include: Asian-American/Immigrant mental health; transitional-age youth/college populations, older adult mental health; and LGBTQIA+ mental health. She is also a certified yoga instructor and practitioner of mindfulness meditation, which she incorporates in her work with clients.
